Kindergarten Students Explore Fall Through Hands-On Learning

Kindergarten students at Deauville Gardens East Elementary School are embracing the season as they learn all about the fall season through hands-on activities.
As part of their lessons, students participated in a taste test to determine their favorite apple variety and their preferred way to enjoy them. They cast their votes for favorites such as apple slices, pie, applesauce, juice and apple chips, while also practicing their counting skills by counting apples up to 10.
To expand their learning, kindergartners created a fall-themed circle map, identifying and labeling some of the hallmarks of the season, including pumpkins, leaves and, of course, apples.
Students also put their fine motor skills to work as they created their own fall trees using the colors of the season. Through these activities, young learners are building early math, literacy and motor skills while having fun exploring the sights, tastes and traditions of fall.
