In recognition of Fire Prevention Month, students at Deauville Gardens East Elementary School welcomed members of the Copiague Fire Department on Oct. 8 for an important and engaging fire safety presentation.

Firefighters shared valuable reminders about staying safe, including what to do in an emergency and the potential dangers associated with lithium-ion batteries. Students also got an up-close look at a firefighter in full protective gear, helping them understand what firefighters may look and sound like when responding to an emergency.
