The Copiague School District welcomed its newest educators during a two-day orientation on August 25 and 26, preparing them for a successful start to the new school year.

Superintendent of Schools Dr. Kathleen Bannon, Board of Education President Brian J. Sales and Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources Todd Andrews welcomed the new teachers and emphasized the importance of building strong relationships with students, colleagues and the school community.

Throughout the orientation, new educators met their building principals, participated in sessions focused on creating positive learning environments and explored strategies to support student success. Teachers also took part in a community bus tour led by Walter G. O’Connell Copiague High School Assistant Principal Janine Proulx, providing an opportunity to become familiar with the neighborhoods they will serve.

The orientation concluded with visits to their respective schools, where teachers connected with colleagues and began preparing their classrooms for the year ahead.
