Walter G. O’Connell Copiague High School Celebrates The Arts

Walter G. O’Connell Copiague High School proudly celebrated student creativity and artistic achievement during its annual Night of the Arts on May 20 in the school’s gymnasium.
Families, staff and community members gathered to admire the impressive collection of artwork created by talented student-artists throughout the school year. The showcase featured a wide variety of projects from the school’s art programs, highlighting the hard work, dedication and creativity of students across multiple disciplines.
Displays included studio art pieces, animation projects, plaster cake sculptures, Funko Pop figures, masks, ceramic bowls, mugs and teapots, watercolor paintings, needle felting creations, media arts, pixel art, graphic arts and neon drip art. Selections from the Superintendent’s Art Gallery were also featured during the event, further recognizing outstanding student achievement in the arts.
The evening provided students with an opportunity to proudly share their artistic talents while celebrating the importance of creativity, self-expression and the visual arts within the school community.
