Students Showcase Creativity In Poster Contest

Student creativity and environmental awareness recently took center stage through Copiague Middle School’s 2026 Earth Day Poster Competition, co-sponsored by the school’s Science Club and Tree Huggerz Club.
The competition encouraged participants to design original posters that highlighted the importance of protecting the planet. This year’s theme, “Our Power, Our Planet,” emphasized the impact that individual actions — both big and small — can have on the environment.
Students were invited to explore a range of ideas in their artwork, including community cleanups, sustainability, environmental protection and climate action. Congratulations to this year’s winners: Elizabeth Rivera-Saravia (first place), Asma Lounici (second place) and Anala Amin and Ruby Benitez (third place).
This initiative provides students with an opportunity to combine artistic expression with environmental responsibility, reinforcing the importance of caring for the Earth and inspiring positive change within the school community.
