Fairytale Comes To Life At Walter G. O’Connell Copiague High School

Walter G. O’Connell Copiague High School’s auditorium was filled with laughter and applause as students took the stage for their production of “Shrek the Musical” on March 20 and 21. The performances drew packed audiences, as families, friends and community members gathered to enjoy the lively and entertaining show.
Based on the 2001 animated film “Shrek,” the musical tells the story of an unlikely hero, a determined princess and a cast of unforgettable fairytale characters. The students brought the story to life with energetic performances, colorful costumes and impressive musical numbers. The production was the result of months of dedication and preparation by both the cast and crew. From rehearsals on stage to the countless hours spent designing sets, lighting, costumes and sound behind the scenes, students worked together to create a memorable theater experience.
The performances highlighted not only the creativity of the actors on stage but also the hard work and collaboration of the many students who contributed behind the scenes.
