Copiague Middle School Students Shine At LISEF

Several Copiague Middle School students earned top recognition at the Long Island Science and Engineering Fair on March 12 at the Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury. The prestigious event brings together talented young scientists from across the region to present their research and innovative projects.
The following Copiague Middle School students were recognized for their outstanding work:
• First place: Lenna Karwowska, “Investigating the Comparative Effects of Tapioca Starch-Based and Polylactic-Based Bioplastic on the Mortality of Artemia salina.”
• Second place: Cole Sells and Juliette Peralta, “Prosthetic vs. Human.”
• Second place: Yeslie Ventura, “The Effect Temperature Has on Magnetism.”
• Third place: Anala Amin, “Smart Sprouting.”
• Honorable mention: Gabriella Olszowy, “Roll with It!”
Students spent months researching, experimenting and preparing their projects before presenting their findings to judges and peers at the competition. Their success at LISEF reflects their curiosity, dedication and commitment to scientific exploration.
