Student-athletes who received the Suffolk Zone Health and Physical Education Leadership Award were honored and recognized during the June 9 Board of Education meeting. The awards are presented to individuals from each elementary (Grade 5) and middle school (Grade 8) in Suffolk County for his/her outstanding performance in the physical education program. Additionally, two graduating seniors are presented with the Suffolk Zone Outstanding Health & Physical Education Achievement.

Wiley Elementary School – Calvin Sanchez, Lisney Yensaliz and Moronta Balbuena; Deauville Gardens East Elementary School – Isabella Peralta and Na’zir Nelson; Deauville Gardens West Elementary School – Jayden Jimenez and Kayleigh Steigert; Great Neck Road Elementary School – Chase Johnson and Anastasia Mais; Copiague Middle School – Dean Coleman Jr. and Kaitlyn Lombardo; and Walter G. O’Connell Copiague High School – Anthony Diaz and Emma Luvera.
