Copiague Students Spend A Day In The Big Leagues

Walter G. O’Connell Copiague High School sports marketing students, along with members of the varsity baseball team, took part in an educational visit to Yankee Stadium on April 14, gaining firsthand insight into the inner workings of a professional sports organization.
During the visit, students toured key areas of the stadium, including the press box and field, where they learned how a Major League Baseball team prepares for game day. The experience provided a behind-the-scenes look at the coordination, planning and teamwork required to host a professional sporting event.
In addition to exploring the facility, students were introduced to the wide range of career opportunities within professional baseball. From media and communications to operations and marketing, the trip highlighted the many pathways available in the sports industry. The visit offered students a valuable real-world learning experience, connecting classroom concepts to careers in sports and providing inspiration for future opportunities in the field.
