Student Recognition Awards Honor Accomplishments

To celebrate the achievements of its student body, the Copiague School District held a Student Recognition Awards ceremony at Copiague Middle School on Feb. 9. Surrounded by administrators, Board of Education members, family, friends and faculty, 18 students were recognized for their hard work, academic success and dedication both in and out of the classroom.
Held twice a year, the awards ceremony honors students who are nominated by administrators, teachers and staff in their respective school buildings. The program highlights individuals who consistently demonstrate excellence, leadership, perseverance and positive character.
“Publicly recognizing excellence is our way of celebrating some of the great successes of Copiague Public Schools’ programs and, at the same time, enabling us to showcase outstanding role models to our community,” said Copiague School District Superintendent of Schools Dr. Kathleen Bannon. “These students represent the very best of our district, and we are incredibly proud of their accomplishments.”
The ceremony reflects the district’s commitment to celebrating student achievement and fostering a culture of excellence, encouragement and community pride.
