The fifth graders at Deauville Gardens East Elementary School are wrapping up the school year with a focus on literacy. The students recently learned how to read graphic texts, noticing the visual features to help follow the actions of the story. The fifth graders then created their own graphic novel storylines and learned about persuasive writing. They also created book advertisements, wrote a book review and made persuasive posters based on opinions they developed from reading.
