At Deauville Gardens West Elementary School, students in Mrs. Ottati‘s second and third grade classes combined their social studies lessons on communities with their science knowledge of plant growth. They explored suburban areas and discussed what makes a community thrive. Each student then created a photo of their home and planted seeds in their yard. As they watched the seeds grow, their homes and plants also grew together to build a vibrant neighborhood.
