IMPORTANT - Report Cards and Summer School - PLEASE READ

Posted Date: 6/30/25 (5:52 PM)

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Please note that final grades for the 2024-2025 school year have been posted on the eSchool Student and Parent Portals.  In addition, the 4th marking period report cards have been posted.  Please carefully review your child's grades for all courses and for Regents exams.

If your child has failed a course for the year or a Regents exam and you have NOT received a message on ParentSquare, please contact the guidance office at (631) 842-4010 extension 420 to speak to a guidance counselor about registering your child for summer school classes and/or to retake a failed Regents exam in August 2025.

For the Summer of 2025, the Copiague Public School District is partnering with Western Suffolk BOCES to provide our summer school program. Students who need to attend summer school due to a course failure or students that need to retake a failed Regents exam in August will participate in the program held at the Western Suffolk BOCES North Babylon Campus at the Robert Moses Middle School.

The program will begin on Tuesday, July 15, 2025 and conclude on Friday, August 15, 2025.  It will run Monday through Friday, from 7:45 a.m. to 1:35 p.m. This is a three period day.  Your child may not need to be present for all three periods - it depends on the classes for which they need credits and if they are enrolled in Regents tutorial classes.  Transportation will be provided to and from the North Babylon campus, utilizing regional bus stops similar to those used for after-school activities (busing information will be shared after the registration process is completed). Classes will be taught by certified teachers, some of whom are members of our own faculty. There is no cost to families for participation in this program.

This collaboration provides students with a supportive, air-conditioned learning environment where they can focus on earning the necessary credits for graduation. While this model is a change from previous years, we are confident that it will offer our students the structure and support they need to succeed.

Please note that summer school is available for current 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students. Seniors in need of additional credits will participate in a Summer Academy program held within the district.  Guidance counselors will complete the registration process for summer school and/or Regents exams.  Please note that if you do not contact the guidance department and you want your child to attend summer school and/or retake failed Regents exams, you will need to complete the registration process on your own. You will need to report to the Western Suffolk BOCES North Babylon Campus at the Robert Moses Middle School on July 7, 2025 between the hours of 9:00 AM and 1:00 PM to register your child for failed courses. If you are registering your child to retake a failed Regents exam, you will need to report to the Western Suffolk BOCES North Babylon Campus at the Robert Moses Middle School on July 8, 2025 between the hours of 9:00 AM and 1:00 PM to register your child for Regents exams and Regents tutorials.  These are the only days for registration.

If you choose to not send your child to summer school, your child will need to retake the failed course(s) in the 2025-2026 school year as well as any failed Regents exam.  Please note this will have a significant impact on your child's schedule.

Thank you for your continued support.  If you have any questions about summer school, please do not hesitate to contact your child's guidance counselor.

Sincerely,

Joseph M. Agosta
Principal
